Creating and Opening Projects

To create a new project, use the File > New (Cmd-N) menu command.

The default settings (e.g. measurement units) will be applied to a new project. If you wish to verify or change the current project settings, use the Project Settings dialog. In the dialog, you can choose to save the settings of the current project as the default ones for new projects.

To create a project from a template, choose one from the Gallery. By default, the Gallery opens up on start-up. You can deactivate this feature in the Miscellaneous tab of the Preferences. To open the Gallery at any time, use the File > New From Gallery… menu command.

To open a project located on your hard drive, double-click on it in Finder. You can also navigate to your project using the File > Open… menu command, or choose one of the recently edited projects from the File > Open Recent list.
