Guidelines and the Layout Grid
In addition to layout guides and smart guides, you can use the layout grid to arrange objects in the 2D layout.
You can show or hide the grid in the 2D View section of the program Settings.
Grid spacing is linked to the measurement units used for rulers and to the layout scale. The program changes the grid spacing automatically when you change the scale of the 2D Plan view.
One vertical and one horizontal line of the grid pass through the zero point of the rulers.
Aligning Objects to the Grid
Only layout guidelines can snap to the grid. Objects cannot do this.
To align an object to a grid line, add a guideline and snap it to the grid. You can then align an object to the guideline.
